Well, it’s Spring… so the calendar says anyway!
I know that the status of “the bike shop” has been a bit foggy since late last year. I won’t pretend to know exactly what it will look like a year from now, but I want you to know what the current plan is.
1. Jamie and I have a very nice fitting studio set up adjacent to my home office in Somers and are available by appointment for current and new bike fittings. The space is set up with a Serotta Size Cycle which we use to create an ideal fit without having to disassemble your current bike. We also have a Computrainer set up to analyze your pedal stroke and efficiency in any given position. We charge $100/hr and typically end up spending two hours to develop an ideal position, but it’s your money and we will work within your budget to be as helpful as we can.
2. Jamie and I are also set up to work on your bike and without the distraction of a retail store it’s a pretty efficient process. We have a decent stock of the basic stuff needed for maintenance and can special order other parts and accessories very easily. This also allows us to offer very competitive prices – so check with us before playing the mail order game. We charge $75/hr for mechanical services and can guarantee that the work will be done right since it’s just the two of us turning wrenches!
